T-34A Mentor

History

The Beechcraft T-34A Mentor is a military trainer aircraft developed shortly after World War II. Designed by Walter Beech, it was based on the civilian Beechcraft Bonanza, but modified to meet military training needs. The T-34A was developed specifically to replace the aging AT-6 Texan, a World War II-era trainer that was becoming outdated for modern pilot instruction
